Job seekers are asking how long does it take to find a new job? The answer to that questions is that it depends on a lot of different factors. Professional job seekers without a question would like to know the avenge time it takes to secure a full-time position and resolve any uncertainty about their future career prospect. The first thing to know is that it is possible to find employment in a matter of days, like a colleague of mine.

He got recruited via Facebook and offered a position two days after he was interviewed and 4 days after the employer first reached out to him.   But unfortunately this doesnt happen often, and can take a lot long time to secure a position.

According to researchers, it has been estimated it would take about roughly one month to find employment for every $10,000 salary you would expect to earn. So, in theory, if you were looking to earn $60,000 a year your job search could take three months. However, there is little concrete research to support that assertion, and there are so many variables that impact the length of time it takes to find a job that even a rough estimate is virtually useless when applied to any one particular job seeker.

Factors Which Impact the Length of a Job Search

·        Economy and the job market

·        Candidate’s preferred location

·        Flexibility in terms of job preferences

·        The duration one is unemployed

·         Time and energy devoted to your search

What can help speed up the process?

·        Knowing how to, applying for jobs online

·        Knowing which companies have vacancies, job hirings

A poll was conducted by pure-jobs.com to find out how long job seekers have been out of work and searching, and how recruitment is adapting to mobile technology see the (Infographic) below  below and leave a comment.
